Organisation

DIRAC has been established as collaboration between The Faculties of Health Sciences at The Universities of Copenhagen, Aarhus and Southern Denmark. The Head of DIRAC refers to the dean of The Faculty of Health Science at The University of Southern Denmark. The Head of the research academy answers to the authorities empowered to make grants. The function of secretary with the responsibility of the daily running is established at the Department of Health Service Research in Odense. DIRAC is managed by an Executive Committee of 6 people, who besides the Head consist of 5 key instructors. In addition there is a board, consisting of the remaining 13 course conductors.

DIRAC will try to establish contact to all the environments of research in Denmark that conduct clinical intervention research and will therefore build on a network consisting of expectedly 100 PhD instructors. DIRAC will cooperate with the local PhD board of studies as it will be the three Faculties of Health Sciences who will be responsible for the enrolment for the PhD studies and the conferment of the PhD title. The board of DIRAC has the responsibility of realising the lift in quality through establishing 16 completely new PhD courses, conducting workshops, seminars and summer schools with foreign teachers and lecturers. The administration and the practical performance of the DIRAC courses will be carried out by the local research educations in close cooperation with the leader of the course.
