Danish Clinical Intervention Research Academy

DIRAC

DIRAC is a virtual research academy, which has been established in January 2004, for a five-year period. The research academy has been established by means of a grant of 6.5 million Danish Kroner from The Research Education Council. The Faculties of Health Sciences in Copenhagen, Århus and Odense have all committed to an annual subsidy of 0.2 million Danish Kroner. In addition to this, the faculties have committed to the co-financing of 6 co-financed PhD. scholarships and external subsidies will be provided by the pharmaceutical industry amongst others.

DIRAC strives to raise the quality of the research education in clinical intervention research.

Clinical intervention research contains research made on people with regard to the prevention, diagnostic and treatment of disease. This includes methods for estimation and improvement of already established routines of treatment, medical technology assessment and industrial treatment research

 

Our goal is to raise the quality of research education in Denmark , by offering courses, summer schools, workshops and seminars.

The educational offers are primarily directed at PhD students at:

Ø      The Danish Faculties of Health Sciences at The Universities of Southern Denmark, Aarhus and Copenhagen

Ø      The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Ø      The Dental Colleges of Copenhagen and Århus

Ø      The Universities of South Sweden (Lund/Malmö)
